I just started doing this game recently, and so far everyone has loved it, and they have stated it is their favorite game yet.

I first tried it out on a group who books me twice a month, every month. They are experienced, and from the Late Teens up in to their 40's.

I bought 4 wicker baskets from the dollar store and spray painted them red.

Then I set them on the edges of the field, 2 on the left, 2 on the right. Two baskets (1 left and 1 right)would be a quarter way up the field from one of the teams, and the other two would be a quarter way up the field from the other team. In each basket are 2 cards (at night I used colored chem lights). One red card one black card for a total of 4 red cards, and 4 black cards.

This game is an unlimited respawn, with only 3 hit points per player. The object is for one team to get all 4 of his teams colored cards and get them back to their ref.

Should a player be killed while holding a card, he must put the card back in the basket he got it from. No handing it off once dead. A live player may hand the card to someone else, but if that person dies, the card must be replaced in the basket it was grabbed from.

Since each team has 2 baskets that are not too far from where they start, it is expected that each team will be able to grab two cards right away. However the next two baskets will be closer to the other teams area, so it will make retrieving the cards more difficult. It makes good strategy important here, since a normal rush, die, respawn, rush probably will not work since the other team is closer to their respawn point.

Since this game requires two refs, we use radios to tell each other when a card is brought in so it can be announced to both teams, like a score, yelling out, "Red team has two cards, Green team 1 card and so on."

I put the game at 15 minutes, so far it never went the full time, the longest game so far was 14 minutes. I do not hide the baskets, letting each team know where the 4 are found, on the edge of the players areas and so forth.

I am going to start using a 5th basket in the middle of the field, this will be used in the larger games.

Actually I stopped using baskets and use colored chem lights instead. Red for red team and Green for green team. Works much better, is easy to see an hangs easily enough.

You could also use poker chips instead of cards.

That's a great idea. I'm going to have to try that with foam balls or something. I'm almost always playing outside and I'm afraid what would happen to the cards.

Heck, maybe I'll look for big, clumsy foam balls or get some slightly deflated playground balls. That would encourage the smaller guns (especially SFs) to grab the balls and for the larger guns to cover them.

I wonder if there's a good BFL equivalent to Quidditch...
